LV’s Monday Meanderings… Thanksgiving Edition!

Happy Monday Meanderers! I actually made it today, but this week the holiday is on a Thursday, so I’m good. Here’s this week’s installment of the regular newsletter I created to keep me engaged with you. This will provide a way for you to know what’s going on with me even though I’m not camping out on Social Media anymore. As usual, I have some great books to share with you!

Writing, Writing, Writing!

I’m still working on getting something complete by early 2019. I realize that with the holidays upon us, I’m not going to be ready for a Christmas release, and to be honest, the market will likely be glutted during the holidays anyway, so the likelihood of getting traction will be nil. There are so many steps to go through in getting a new release out, I don’t believe the trades will be able to fit me in for editing, cover creation, blogger reviews and the like, so I’ll just wait until things aren’t so rushed.

I am so thankful for those of you who have stuck with me during my time of trying to re-establish my brand as an author. It has been tough, but I know I’m going to get there. Eventually. 🙂

Here’s hoping you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. I’ll see you on the other side of the weekend.

Speaking of writing, if you want to read any of my books while you’re waiting on my new stuff to publish, you can find all my books here. Redeeming the Amazon is currently FREE: LV Lewis books!

Most come to The Beaudelaire Hotel a select few times a year merely to indulge in sexual fantasy, but the stakes are higher for Karen Freeman and Paul Beaudelaire this New Year’s weekend.

How does a woman remain sexy when she’s lost an essential hallmark of her femininity? She gives a Marine amputee one shot at helping a former model with body image.

Will this fantasy weekend at the Beaudelaire Hotel give Paul a second chance with his contemporary Amazon, or will Karen’s fear of rejection be a barrier to their reconnection?

The Last Book I Read…

The Muse

by L.M. Halloran

In her final year of graduate school, Iris Eliot’s dreams are within reach. She’s ready to put the past behind her and embrace whatever the future brings.

Until the future brings him.

Professor James Beckett, bestselling author and award-winning poet, is the new head of the Creative Writing Department at her university. Brilliant and obnoxiously sexy, he’s more dangerous than Iris knows.

When Beckett sets his sights on Iris, it’s not just her heart on the line or her academic and professional careers. Surrendering to the way he makes her feel will rewrite her past.?

My Review

So, L.M. Halloran is becoming a fave of mine. After reading and reviewing her The Fall Before Flight, I’ve become mildly obsessed, so here goes another from her backlist. The Muse fascinated me because I’ve always been rather enamored by professor/student romances. In fact, I wrote one myself years ago, which has never seen the light of day, but this story kinda makes me want to dust it off and take it for a spin. So, Iris Eliot, graduate student is nearing the end of her fellowship. Professor James Beckett, an author whom she’s admired from afar becomes up close and personal when she is assigned as his TA. Instant chemistry between them becomes so much more when buried secrets from her past and his are uncovered. Then betrayal becomes the emotion that cannot be overcome. By either of them. Halloran is a master at evoking emotion in her characters. The Muse did not disappoint.

My Recommendations This Week

LV’s Monday Meanderings… October 29, 2018

Happy Monday, Meanderers! As you very well know by now, I created this regular newsletter to keep me engaged with you on a regular basis. This will provide a way for you to know what’s going on with me even though I’m not camping out on Social Media anymore. This week I’m low on items to meander about because I worked extra hours on both jobs last week. But, I do have an excellent novel to share with you that I’ve read recently. Hopefully, I’ll have more to share next week.

Writing, Writing, Writing!

Because my week was spent working hard on both jobs, I hardly got any writing done. This week will be different because I’m scheduling my writing time and actually putting it on my calendar as if it were a meeting. These are the lengths we part-time writers have to go to from time to time in order to get anything done. I have two four hour blocks of time on Tuesday and Thursday to hopefully get a large chunk of writing done.

Speaking of writing, if you want to read any of my books while you’re waiting on my new stuff to publish, you can find all my books here, where most of them are $0.99, even the Venture Capitalist, if you didn’t grab it while it was FREE: LV Lewis books!

The Last Book I Read…

The Fall Before Flight

by L. M. Halloran

There’s off-limits…
and then there’s your psychiatrist.

They call this place Oasis, and he’s the doctor in charge.

He thinks he can save me. Heal me.
Catch me if I fall…
Yeah, right.
Dr. Leo Chastain is a mouthwatering distraction.
For that reason alone, I’m inclined to play his game.
He doesn’t know I’m incapable of emotions that come naturally to others,
like fear, compassion, love…
I might be a sociopath.
I warned him my kind of broken can’t be fixed.
That the harder he pushes, the harder I’ll push back.
Until he’s broken, too.
I warned him.

My Review

The Fall Before Flight is an exceptionally well-written patient-therapist novel. It is also a fantastic, slow-burn romance in which you will feel the tensions rise between the hero and heroine until the pressure explodes! Dr. Leo Chastain and Amelia “Mia” Sloan our male and female protagonists will reel you in quickly and have you hooked on the plot that develops between them. Leo’s character is an enigma, a puzzle that Mia is determined to solve for her own purposes. Mia views herself as a bad girl, broken from a devastating childhood event which no one has been able to rescue her from. I was thoroughly intrigued by her character, because what was first put forth as a cut-and-dried reason for her neuroses evolves into something much more. Mia’s story is made all the more complex through idiosyncrasies deftly revealed by the author, the revelation of which aid in the progression of the plot and her character’s growth. When I began reading, I was wondering how the author would end this seemingly untenable situation between a patient and her therapist without some asinine plot machination that wasn’t believable. However, Halloran was able to suspend the reader’s disbelief and craft a work of fiction that was genius.

Vic’s Tasty Treat by Christina Rose Andrews
