LV’s Monday Meanderings… December 9, 2019!

Cookie left, Scrappy right

Happy Monday Meanderers! For this week’s Monday Meanderings, I just had to share pictures of my family’s dogs with you. A couple of years ago, we had to put our sweet female German Shepherd, Laila, down. The gate had been inadvertently left open while my husband had been mowing the backyard and she’d gotten out. Unfortunately, she was hit by a car and the extreme nerve damage she sustained rendered her unable to control her motor or bodily functions, so due to the inability of the vet to restore her to a sustainable quality of life, he suggested we put her down.

That was a devastating blow to our family, but we ended up dealing with it, and Scrappy, our little one became quite the “king” of his castle. He has never been friendly to a single dog since Laila left us. Over the holiday, my son asked us to sit for his puppy, Cookie (his black and white pit). This little guy, let me tell you, is a whirlwind of activity. In fact, he’s quite exhausting given how much attention he craves. Scrappy wasn’t having it. He growled at the poor little puppy the whole time he was there, and just when he was getting used to him, it was time for my son to pick up his dog and take him back home. LOL

I’d like to tell you that Scrappy got used to him and they became fast friends, but little alpha dog that Scrappy is, I’m sure that’s not going to happen, unless another female comes around. He is super territorial. So, I’m sharing with you the calmest photo I could find of the two, co-existing peacefully over the last weekend. Enjoy!

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you’re all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn’t happen much, though.”
