LV’s Monday Meanderings… January 7, 2019!

Happy Monday Meanderers! Here’s this week’s installment of the regular newsletter I created to keep me engaged with you. This will provide a way for you to know what’s going on with me even though I’m not camping out on Social Media anymore. As usual, I have some great books to share with you, including a still FREE copy of my classic, Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever! This FREE Promotion will run until my Ranking on the Multicultural and Interracial Romance charts goes above 100, or when Amazon tells me it can’t be FREE anymore!

Since the holidays, this is my first regular newsletter. Enjoy!

Writing, Writing, Writing

(Among Other Things!)

Writing for me is catharsis, but it is also a double-edged sword. Why? Because writing requires me to spend hours with my “butt in a chair, hands on keyboard” (or BICHOK, for those of you who are catchphrase savvy). Over time, my weight creeped up in epic proportions and my health has suffered, but the writing is just one part of the equation. There are many other stressors in my life that contribute to the equation that has gotten me to where I am now. But that’s neither here nor there, because I don’t care to elaborate on every single non-positive thing in my life right now. We’ll just concentrate on weight for starters.

Back in December, I had a minor medical issue which required a procedure be done in urgent care. I got on the scale and it scared the crap out of me! I had somehow allowed myself to get to a weight that I’d rather not share with you at this time. (Oh vanity!) So, I said to myself, “Self, you’ve got to do something about this pronto.” Well, pronto became New Year Resolution, and New Year Resolution became Diet, and Diet chosen became Ketogenic.

Beginning January 2nd I jumped on the bandwagon of a lot of Hollywood A-Listers and Diet Aficionados who have sworn by the Ketogenic Diet and, so far, I’m seeing promising results. As an April baby, I tend to be prone to not finishing things unless it’s a passion or something I love so much it never occurs to me to leave it incomplete. I am hoping that by telling you all about this new thing, you will keep me accountable. Also, I hope you will tell me if you’ve been successful with a diet or lifestyle plan that you’d like to share with me. I love hearing inspirational success stories, or new beginnings, so email me at and tell me what you’ve done lately to make yourself healthier.

I am working on getting something out for you guys to read early this year. As per usual, I am working a 60-hour a week day job, and a 20-hour weekend gig, so bear with me. 🙂

In the meantime, you may check out my backlist, as per usual at:  LV LEWIS BACKLIST. <3

I discovered Jewel E. Ann’s books just last year when I read her Epoch Series, and Oh My God! Her books have become my balm in gilead, my piece de resistance, my reason d’etre, and so many other superlatives, I can’t. I just can’t without one-clicking… Every. Single. One. (of her books!) I have said before I’ve wanted to be other authors when I grow up, but I’ve just got to say, I really, really want to be Jewel E. Ann when I grow up because she nails all those crafty things I tend to have major issues with, and she does is with such ease and flair, I just want to give every one of her books a standing ovation, because she hits every single emotion so perfectly, and her plots are so on point, I am enamored by her.

And with her newest offering, A Place Without You, I am equally as enamored as I have been with her other books (or maybe moreso). Jewel writes love triangles that absolutely do not get on your nerves, if anything, she’s able to show how these can come to be, and how they can be resolved despite someone having to be hurt. Henna, is a free spirit, born of parents who come from the artistic world. Bodhi is her contemporary cowboy whom she meets on the way, and several times during Coachella. And I just want to say, Jewel E. Ann had me at Coachella. I absolutely love that she set this in the beginning here. Henna and Bodhi connect in a huge way at Coachella, but then they separate without a goodbye and Henna returns to her life which takes a different turn when she believes Bodhi is lost to her.

A Place Without You packs a wallop of forbidden fruit, emotion, and all the feels one would expect from a novel from Jewel E. Ann. I won’t elaborate further on the plot, but you can certainly get a few more hints from her book blurb on Amazon. Grab your copy of A Place Without You while you’re there. You will most definitely not be disappointed!
